gift for friend in hospital?
what's the best thing to send a girl I know there? i know flowers are traditional, but they 're kind of useless, aren't they? Anyone been in there recently and had anything that they remember desperately wishing someone would bring them?

1. Novels and/or a portable DVD player
If you can rent one of the latter. That was great for my friend when she was in a few months ago. :)

2. Some nice smelling handlotion. The air can be so dry and it might be a
mood lifter as well. Bath and Body has some terrific stuff.

3. Depends on age and how long she will be staying,
I was in the hospital for about a week when I was 13, but it felt like a month. Try some magazines that she likes or maybe some crossword puzzles? You also could try a good body lotion, because hospital air makes skin dry. I must say that although fleeting, flowers do brighten up a dreary hospital room. Oh, and candy or mints would be good. I would have loved any of these things. Hope this helps!

4. Nothing wrong with flowers!
Especially if she doesn't have any yet - other option is houseplant - or - duh - blooming plant!

Depending what she's in there for and how the food is - something decent to eat! (or junk food)
