New Flags...any graphic designers interested?
Edited on Sat Jan-29-05 11:36 AM by CJCRANE
I'm a sort of amateur artist who's designed different versions of the Union Jack mixing in colours and designs from other flags, for instance "Chakra Jack" (which is a mixture of Indian and UK), "Caribritain" (Jamaican and UK), "UKUSA" (should be obvious) etc. I actually had the flags made, photographed them and sold a few prints and postcards.

Does anyone have any connections that could help me sell any in the USA? Also, any graphic designers interested in doing a similar thing (i.e. a joint project) with the Stars & Stripes (or would that be too controversial)?

on edit: added "(i.e. a joint project)"

1. Slightly off-topic
Do you think that we should dump the Cross of S. Patrick from the Union Flag?

We added it when Ireland joined the Union in 1801, it is an entirely spurious flag itself, and we've given most of Ireland back. On a purely aesthetic point, I think that it looks better without the diagonal red.

2. Yeah, looks quite good..
and good point about Ireland. I wonder what the political fallout would be if people started using it.

I also noticed they used that flag in Pirates of the Caribbean (which was a nice touch, though the rest of the film isn't particularly historically accurate).

Which is generally no bad thing.
