I noticed the other night watching Duke handle Miami that the announcers' lingo can be quite colorful if taken out of context. I wonder if it's this way for all sports?

"It's all about the penetration, and Sean Dockery's bringin' it hard right now!"

"When he gets down in the post and makes himself big, there's no getting around that."

"His ball-handling has been phenomenal tonight."

"They're scoring, but it's coming in spurts."

9. I actually used to like them

I really liked their older teams - guys like Grant Hill, Hurley, etc (I never liked Laettner). They've really seemed to become arrogant in the last few years, and Coach K has become very whiny toward the refs. The media's infatuation with them, especially Dukie V, is also extremely annoying. You're definitely right in that ABD hasn't had much success, but that makes the few wins even better.

12. Interesting

I always saw them as the classy, clean cut, hardworking team, especially compared to teams like UNLV and Michigan (I liked the Fab 5 at the time......too bad they got paid more than many NBA players). Deng is one of the few new guys who I really liked, but it's guys like Reddick who get on my nerves. I might not have noticed Coach K in the past, but it seems that he complains a lot more than he used to.
