I read the whole thread...and my only comment to add to those that disagree with the OP and other supporting posters is to ask those that think this act was heinous:

since when did removing hair or dirt or boogers from the body equal applying lipstick?

IMO, it's no big deal, and I think some of those etiquette rules are stupid and should be ignored anyway. If I need to apply lipstick at any given time, I put it on right then and there. Screw anyone who doesn't want to see it...you know what? DON'T LOOK. I go to a public bathroom to pee and/or wash my hands. Anything else that happens there is incidental. I am not going to interrupt my time taking several minutes to do something that takes seconds!

good lord, too many panties in a wad at DU lately about the Bush Twins! this is getting to be as unfunny as the ugly jokes directed at Chelsea in the 90's. AND I am sick of noting that this type of thing never gets directed at sons of presidents or public figures. Why is their appearance the first thing to get attention?
