SOMEONE! Post to me here so I can give you the third degree!
I want to give someone the Bouncy Ball third degree. I'll ask you a ton of questions about yourself and you have to do your best to answer. I will try to avoid questions that would give too much away about your identity--I stick to safe stuff.

I am at my obnoxious best when I can give someone the third degree!

19. Because....
Fenrir (or Fenris) is a gigantic and terrible monster in the shape of a wolf. He is the eldest child of Loki and the giantess Angrboda. The gods learned of a prophecy which stated that the wolf and his family would one day be responsible for the destruction of the world. They caught the wolf and locked him in a cage. Only the god of war, Tyr, dared to feed and take care of the wolf.

When he was still a pup they had nothing to fear, but when the gods saw one day how he had grown, they decided to render him harmless. However, none of the gods had enough courage to face the gigantic wolf. Instead, they tried to trick him. They said the wolf was weak and could never break free when he was chained. Fenrir accepted the challenge and let the gods chain him. Unfortunately, he was so immensely strong that he managed to break the strongest fetters as if they were cobwebs.

After that, the gods saw only one alternative left: a magic chain. They ordered the dwarves to make something so strong that it could hold the wolf. The result was a soft, thin ribbon: Gleipnir. It was incredibly strong, despite what its size and appearance might suggest. The ribbon was fashioned of six strange elements: the footstep of a cat; the roots of a mountain; a woman's beard; the breath of fishes; the sinews of a bear; and a bird's spittle.

The gods tried to trick the wolf again, only this time Fenrir was less eager to show his strength. He saw how thin the chain was, and said that was no pride in breaking such a weak chain. Eventually, though, he agreed, thinking that otherwise his strength and courage would be doubted. Suspecting treachery however, he in turn asked the gods for a token of good will: one of them had to put a hand between his jaws. The gods were not overly eager to do this, knowing what they could expect. Finally, only Tyr agreed, and the gods chained the wolf with Gleipnir. No matter how hard Fenrir struggled, he could not break free from this thin ribbon. In revenge, he bit off Tyr's hand.

Being very pleased with themselves, the gods carried Fenrir off and chained him to a rock (called Gioll) a mile down into the earth. They put a sword between his jaws to prevent him from biting. On the day of Ragnarok, Fenrir will break his chains and join the giants in their battle against the gods. He will seek out Odin and devour him. Vidar, Odin's son, will avenge his father by killing the wolf.

38. No, still wasting time on DU.
I am an EDI Programmer/Analyst. Still relatively new in the job. Basically I work for a retail outlet and I am responsible for their electronic ordering and invoicing system.

It is cold where I am. Not exacly sure what the temp is, but I would guess it is below freezing. Although the sun did just come out.

My favorite color is green. Not sure why really. Maybe it has to do with springtime and renewal.

Any other questions?

58. Right now is a pretty good time for me
I think I am actually starting to get my life under control, and for the most part, I like myself. I have a loving partner of 8 years. Don't know why he puts up with me but he does. :) We bought a house at the shore which we closed on last week and went down this past weekend with the dog.

So all in all, I think my life may be improving. I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff and taking it one day at a time. Until I start to panic :)

69. I would try to control his anger
It's not directed at me. Which is a good thing. But he does have some anger problems and I wish he could let it go. He gets upset over little things like getting cut off in traffic or if he's trying to do something and it's not working. I wish he wasn't so hard on himself. I guess that's two, but they are sorta interrelated.

I think he is very funny. We are very much on the same wavelength and for the most part agree on what is funny. He makes me laugh and I need that.

How's that for dichotomy?

my first name is tiger. someone called me tigerbeat once (i think based on the magazine) so i use it as my online name.

i'm a theatre director that directs primarily shakespeare and classical (just opened a production of Macbeth this weekend). my favorite history is Henry V. My favorite tragedy is Hamlet. My favorite of his plays that is "called" a comedy but really isn't is Measure for Measure. My favorite actual comedy is Much Ado About Nothing. Soft spot in my heart for The Tempest as well.

I've gone to his Sunday School classes in Plains. I've gone to numerous functions at the Carter Center. I've ridden the inaugural run of the Sam Shortline train that he was the guest of honor on (train line goes through numerous little towns in South Georgia and ends in Plains). Book signings. Lectures. Love that man...but I'm not a stalker.

And no, wasn't old enough to vote for him. Either time. I was 2 when he first won office. But my mom did cry when Reagan won. Close enough. I know how she felt. I bawled like a baby on Nov. 3 this year. 2 years of hard work.....all for naught.

79. Atlanta - speaking of armpits
Don't get me wrong. Love the city. Only place to go if you want any kind of culture, but it's beginning to look more and more like a giant cesspool. Trash everywhere. Strip malls galore. A developers paradise. Stay far away if you like trees.

It is a shame that you didn't get to go to Savannah. It's simply another world there. Beautiful...I went to school near there, so I spent many a day and more nights there  Annual St. Patrick's Day trek. Btw, don't ever tell State Patrol people that they look ridiculous in their uniform hats. Some people have no sense of humor....

Texas eh? What on earth drew you there?

82. What drew me here?
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 02:25 PM by Bouncy Ball
Birth. My family has been here since 1782. Before it was a state.

The only reason I was in Georgia was my husband was stationed at Ft. Benning. We also lived in Phenix City, Alabama for a while, right across the Chattahoochee River (I love saying that word).

My daughter is a Georgia peach, though.

84. Wow. 1782. Impressive.
Remember the Alamo. Remember Goliad.

I love the Indian names too. Funny how they kept the names, but forced out the Indians. (j/k - not funny in the least)

I found the Shining to be more amusing than frightening, so no I'm not trying to scare anyone.

The temperature is about 20% with gusty winds.....

47. I'm the one asking questions here.
Why did you pick the name Spacemom?

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being flaming, how liberal are you?

70. It's short for outsidespacemom
Kind of a long story.

When my oldest was about 3 he was really into watching "rugrats" on nickelodeon. Those cute little babies who are always on some adventure. They have cute little sayings like instead of saying "responsibility" they say "sponserbility." For "outer space" they say "outside space."

One day my son came up to me and said "Mom, I love you more than all of outside space." I happened to be registering for something online that asked for a user name and I came up with outsidespacemom. Then it's been shortened to Spacemom. :)

How liberal am I on a scale of 1 to 10? I'd say 9.5 :)

and even though we're red, the people are very friendly. I love working at the the University and have met some very special people. The horse farms here are phenominal--I do believe some horses live better than I do.

101. Sioxsie Sioux,
She of Siouxie and the Banshees fame. I was using Wonder Woman for a while but there were too many others around here with that avatar. But I wanted to stick with "Female Superhero" (heh) so I went with Siouxsie. She is a Punk Rawk Goddess. :7
