Patrick Lawler said he accidentally hit his face with what he thought was the back of his nail gun about a week ago. His lips bled some -- but that was it.

When he got a toothache and blurry vision in his right eye, doctors prescribed ibuprofen and ice packs.

When his wife finally convinced him to take an X-ray at her dental office, they couldn't believe what they saw.

"This is the second case we've seen at the hospital where the person was injured by the nail gun and the person didn't realize the nail had embedded in their skull," said neurosurgeon Sean Markey.

And why didn't the neurosurgeon say and this is the second case where the dumb docs didn't check things out a little further. Blurry vision in the eye maybe NOT a headache?
