Poll question: How long does it take you to fully wake up after getting out of bed?
It takes me at least a half hour, sometimes more, before I leave the zombie stage and feel like functioning normally. While I'm going through the process, I slooowly drink an insulated mug of coffee for a full half hour and watch the news on TV. Gotta drink it in something that keeps it really hot, like my plastic foam insulated Aladdin mug.

2. I need as much time as it takes to
drink about 2 cups of coffee (or 4 cups of tea) and smoke 3 cigs. Oh, yes and I have to pee very first thing.

3. Not easily measured in time
More in amounts of coffee, and walking.

I have two alarms set half an hour apart, and tend finally to drag myself out of bed 15-30 minutes after the second. Then I have only enough consciousness to make the first coffee and shower. As the first coffee is taking effect, I get dressed and eat breakfast, then walking to work finally drags me into the land of the living.

By 11 a.m., I'm back to dozy stage, but by 10 p.m. I wide-awake and remain so for a couple of hours.

7. Soon as I get out of bed
If I stay in bed I may never get up
That is why the alarm clock is across the room, tuned the the most obnoxious radio station I can find. My wife is the secondary alarm, If I don't hear the alarm she kicks me.

8. I'll get back with you if I ever feel awake.
Maybe in about 30 years when I retire and can actually get some rest. Assuming I can retire and don't have to work at McDonalds to pay for my prescriptions.

9. I get up and start doing stuff right away.
Usually I wake up to my son hounding me. I change his diaper and feed him his breakfast right away and then I get my breakfast too.
