Poll question: Favorite version of "Lay Lady Lay?"
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 09:52 AM by eyesroll
I've had the Ministry version in my head for the last couple of days.

1. Dylan
Admittedly because it's the only version I've heard... I'd be interested in hearing the Byrds' version, though, since I often like their takes on Dylan songs more than the originals.

2. Which Dylan do you mean? The "Nashville Skyline" studio version...
...or the live "Hard Rain" version?

3. Get picky on me, why don't you?

You do realize that except for Dylan and Ministry, the entire list was generated by Google.

There -- I edited -- better? :eyes:

4. Well, after all...
...your profound musical illiteracy is the primary grounds for our divorce. :P

7. And I quote:
"There's a Ministry version of "Lay Lady Lay?"" -- You yesterday.

OK, so that's one little irrelevant tidbit you didn't know, versus me not recognizing Beatles lyrics, and being stupid enough to inquire publically, but still.

10. Yes. How many holes were there in Blackburn, Lancashire?
You, of course, have no idea. :eyes:

13. The fact that I dress up like a dog and pleasure Dubya...
...is not nearly so bad as your inability to appreciate the dulcet strains of Gilmore Tamny's voice.

11. I like the NS version.
The live version is the worst song on Hard Rain. Even worse than "Oh Sister."

5. The song sucks, but I'd pick Cassandra Wilson...
...without even hearing her version.

9. I'm actually pretty neutral on the song as a whole...
...but the earworm is driving me nuts.

16. Other: Will Ferrell singing it to Robert Duvall (sp?)....
on SNL. Will Ferrell plays a nurse who keeps sneaking into a patient's (Robert Duval's) room while he's sleeping, to stroke his head while singing Lay Lady Lay. Very funny. :D
