(only bad thing about vonage -- when you sign up, the contract stipulates, they reserve right to eavesdrop/report calls they deem inappropriate.

1. Sounds like a scare
tactic to me. You know we have to stop those tarists in there tracks. I don't think that they would or could hire one million people to listen to one million people talking on the phone. :scared:

2. well it's nice to see they're using 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy

'cause that would be my main concern; not Vonage eavesdropping so much as others around you with Wi-Fi devices.

That said, I'll say what I say about all wireless communication (cordless phones at home, cell phones, this new gadget):

So many people are in a rush to go wireless and drop their landline phone they forget two things: 1) when AC power goes out on a widespread scale (blackouts) the cell towers go out, too. The phone company runs its landline system on DC power on different lines and will be there for you. 2) You should never conduct your financial affairs (calls about your accounts to banks/brokerage, etc.) or any confidential or sensitive personal calls on wireless/cordless phones (or wireless PCs, for that matter), due to the potential risks of interception.

128-bit WEP is a help, but nothing's perfect.
