My throat's on fire! I can't even drink coffee! I am sick....
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 06:29 AM by aQuArius
I have a nice warm cup of Godiva special roast coffee sitting right here beside me and its painful to drink. My nose is runny, my head is pounding and I have to go to work, then straight to rehearsals tonight. No rest for the weary, I suppose. :hangover: I just want to go back to bed, even the Nyquil didn't help me sleep, tossed and turned all night :boring:

1. Is it the flu?
That's what it sounds like. Take care of yourself.

4. I hope not, can't get that sick right now...
too much to do. Thankfully, my kids got the flu shot before anyone knew there'd be a shortage, but not me.

2. please don't push yourself
been there, done that. Better to take the day off and rest than to push it, collapse, and have a week in bed or a hospital stay.

6. Can't take a day off, I'd get fired...
My employer has a "points" system, can't get too many points in a rolling year. I had bronchitis in August (its chronic about every 18 months or so) and had to take a week off. I think I'll go get a medical mask, and just go in.

8. Hi, good morning...
You know how many "points" I have, I'd get fired. Plus, tonight is the costume fitting, its a must, probably won't dance though, no energy.

11. The best part about going to work
when you're sick is that you get to share your illness with everyone else! It's simply wrong to suffer alone, others should participate in your misery. On the other hand, I'm certain you've gotten so many points because in the past you've not gone to work sick, but you've never taken a day off just because you didn't feel like working that day, right?

Your co-workers will be so delighted to see you they won't mind at all that you're spreading germs far and wide.

15. Exactly.
Going to work when you have a contagious illness is beyond stupid. And does not deserve empathy.

13. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide
mixed half and half with water.

But first dip a couple of q-tips in the mixture and use to wipe the insides of your nostrils and ears.

It won't necessarily cure you, but it will kill some of the germs and lower the impact of your cold.

Also, try drinking tea instead of coffee. Tea with honey, if you have any.

14. If your throat is hurting that bad and nothing alleviates the pain
you may have strep throat. I had it 7 times one year, I couldn't get rid of it at all. The doctor finally gave me a stronger antibiotic and it cleared up. If your throat still hurts at noon I would advise you to go to the doctor. Strep throat sucks!
