Judge May Have Used Dead Mother's Name To Get Handicapped Parking Tag
<snip>

The Harris County District Attorney's Office is investigating whether a local justice of the peace wrongly used her dead mother's name to obtain a handicapped parking permit.

Judge Betty Brock Bell, 55, who has served for nearly 20 years as justice of the peace for Harris County Precinct 7, Place 1, says she is fully cooperating with the probe. She says she had a legal reason for obtaining the parking permit and did not intend to use it for herself.

"Over a handicapped sticker — can you believe it? With all the pending DNA tests out there, they don't have anything better to do?" Bell said Wednesday.

District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal confirmed his office is investigating Bell but declined to comment on the specifics of the case. The matter will be referred to a grand jury for review, he said

2. You are a really nice person
Judge Bell. I hope your cheating butt gets kicked off the bench.

There was a lady in the village used her dead husband's handicap pass until she had an accident now she has a pass of her very own. Karma.

4. So what's her "legal reason" for illegally obtaining

a handicapped parking permit? And how did she intend to use it if not for herself? Why doesn't she tell the press if "it will all come out""

As someone who is fully entitled to my handicapped parking permit, I often park in a regular space if I'm feeling well enough to walk a little further. I always remember that someone who has more difficulty walking than I do, or someone who uses a wheelchair, may need a handicapped space more than I do. In many parking areas, there are only one or two spaces allocated for the handicapped.

I feel only disgust for people who park illegally in handicapped spaces, and even more disgust for someone who would fraudulently obtain a handicapped sticker in a dead peron's name.

As a justice of the peace, "Ding Dong" Betty Bell should have more respect for the law.

The article says this is a third degree felony, (signing another's name or providing incorrect information on a state application) and, I'm sorry to say, says Betty Brock Bell is a Democrat. Could have fooled me!

5. It amazes me how little respect people have for the law
My own father once lost his licence for a DUI in Vermont. I was living just over the bridge in NH and he came to me asking if he could use my address to get a NH licence because he didn't want to go all summer without being able to ride his motorcycle!

I told him, "No" in no uncertain terms and asked him what he would have said had I ever asked him to do such a thing for me. Selfish, self- centered people.

And, yes, he is a Republican.
