Beatles classic voted worst song: O Bla Di O Bla Da.....
BBC

The Beatles did not release Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da as a single in the UK

The Beatles' 1968 song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da has been voted the worst song ever in an online poll.

The track was on the band's White Album - which is often regarded as one of the best albums ever made.

It was rated as being worse than former footballer Paul Gascoigne's Fog On The Tyne in a Mars survey of 1,000 people.

In third place was Meat Loaf's 1993 hit I'll Do Anything For Love, while 5ive, Cliff Richard, Vanilla Ice and Steps were also in the top 10.

2. But it's so much fun to sing in the car... especially when you get to the
BRA part!

La la la la la - La - La.

Who's voting on this?
Many sounds are soooo much worse!
What about Convoy, huh?
Or that horrible sequel to It's My Party I'll Cry If I Want To?
(Judy's Turn to Cry)

Hmmmmmm. Seems fishy to me. Check the voting machines.

3. Another Macca Classic.
And so many bad ones to choose from, "Silly Love Songs", "Freedom", "Ebony & Ivory", "When I'm 64".

The list goes on and on.

8. You have to admit
The bass part on "Silly Love songs" is pretty damn good. The song itself is embarrassing.

14. Well, he is a rather good bass player, I'll give him that.
And he did write "Yesterday".

But he's still my 4th favorite Beatle. FWIW.

7. Now wait a minute!
I just heard the Kings' Singers do a wonderful arrangement of Ob-La-Dee last night.

Besides, what do those silly U.K. listeners know, anyway? The worst pop song of all time is "Havin' My Baby."

...hard to believe that song (and those on XNASA's list) came out of the same brain as "Helter Skelter" - one of the rockinest tunes ever.

10. Rumor is
Paul stole that song from some folk guy he saw in a club once and the guy tried to sue, but it was dealt with out of court.
The only part I really like about it is John and George saying things in the background.

12. if you listen closely you can actually hear them say -
"Man this song sucks... Paul, this is shit... I can't believe we're recording this crap..."

The White Album is my least favorite.

17. Worst Beatle song, or worst pop song
Perhaps the worst Beatle song -- but no where near the worst pop song!

Good gosh people.

18. It's not my favorite
But it's FAR from being the worst song ever.

I mean, think about it. We live in a world where "Achy Breaky Heart" was recorded.

24. No no no no no.
The worst Beatles song ever was "Hey Jude."

Half the freaking song is Na na na na na na na (etc ad nauseam)

Funny story:
My brother (12 years older than me), a huge Beatles fan, had a copy of this record circa 68 or 69- whenever. My dad was stationed in the Philippines then, so my mom and brother and I were living with my grandmother in his absence.

My mom's younger sister (only a few years older than my brother) was also living at home.

She told me years later that she got so sick of that 45 that she went and buried it out in the backyard. He never figured out what happened to it, but just went and bought another one not long after that. At least she got a few days of peace.

26. Good evening, and welcome to Slagger's!
I actually like that song. But then, I'm in the .0000001 percent of the population that gets a kick out of "The Most Unwanted Song" based on a Komar & Melamid survey.

27. That's absurd
There must be hundreds of thousands of songs worse than "Ob-La-Di".
The problem is, nobody remembers them.

I think "Ob-La" is OK if you think of it as a children's sing-along song (or maybe a parody of one).

Typical earworm song.

Who's Cliff Richard? Can any of the Brits out there enlighten me? Sounds like the British equivalent of Lee Greenwood.
