Poll question: the fate of the beat bush mobile
so, of all the things that i was looking forward to in the kerry administration, the most personal one was- i could retire this car-

now, i do love her. i will miss her horribly. she is rusty, blowing oil, crumbling. it would take an engine, and at least $500 to really keep her going. i was looking forward to her work being done, so that i may move along to a reliable, efficient, new car (which the hubby will NOT let me "decorate").
i have been joking about taking her to burning man. probably not, but i have been dreaming about some such appropriate send-off.
trouble is, her work is not done. now i feel like i have to drive her to d.c. for the coronation, at the least.
so, what do you think i should do?

16. Donate it to a local school
My HS had an auto lab for students to learn how to fix cars. Our local community college has one too. I'm sure either one would appreciate the donation, and you would be contributing to people's educations.

You could also donate it to a fire department. They use old junkers to train with the "jaws of life".

Volunteers of America could come and get it. You'd get a tax-deductable receipt for "fair market value". They'd auction it off and the proceeds would help the homeless.

20. volunteers
i actually rescued her from the junkyard after she was a donation. this place hangs on to the "bad, but not dead yet" donations, and gets a little more for them than the crusher.
