can "win" an election. That is truly beyond my comprehension.

I know I'm obsessing about this. I shouldn't. I need someone to slap me and tell me to fight.

My thought processes are tied up in knots today.

Global monitors find faults

Here's my favorite bit:

"Variations in local election law not only make it difficult for election monitors to generalize on a national basis, but also prohibit the observers from entering polling stations at all in some states and counties. Such laws mean that no election observers from the organization are in Ohio, a swing state fraught with battles over voter intimidation and other polling issues."

3. SLAP!!
It is because they were activated and went to the polls, our grass roots efforts got killed. The religious zealots won this round.

Focus, we need to get back on our feet and take the country back, using a better strategy.

5. You, like me, paid too much heed to the pundits.
If a voter disapproves of a president's performance, the voter could still conceivably vote for the president if he/she finds the incumbent more palatable than the challenger. I don't entirely believe the whole "re-election is a referendum on the incumbent" poo.
