Why are many * supporters elderly?
The creatures in office are not the repukes of their time. So whazzup?

I say they know society's going to pot. Of course, senile and spiteful they are, they want us to go down the toilet with them.

2. I've been canvassing since Spring.
Most of the elderly I talked to are afraid of the deficit. They see that the war is stupid. And they are angry about the fraud called "Medicare reform" that was supposed to help them with their prescriptions.

Maybe the difference is social economic status, with better-off older folks supporting Bush, because they feel guilty about how selfish they are.

3. The "Greatest Generation"
The ones I have met -- especially the guys who went toe to toe with Hitler -- HATE Bush.

The opposition to Bush is much broader and deeper than those who have their heads up their asses realize.

4. What Churhill Should Have Said
If you are not a liberal when you are young, you have no heart.
If you are not a conservative when you are old, then you have avoided senility.

5. Not at all what I am finding here in Mississippi....
I have heard many elderly people criticizing Bush and stating that they will vote for Kerry.

The thirty-to-fifty-somethings are the ones who are Bush supporters here.

7. Yeah, here it's all old folks for Kerry.
I am amazed that there is even a group called "College Republicans". How can you be for him when you are LEARNING about the world and the shit he has caused.

8. I'm shocked ANY of them would support shrub ...
My mom HATES bush* and she is, truly, the perfect example of "the kind old lady". Always helping family, friends, neighbors, strangers ... To my amazement she goes after them if one is unfortunate enough to cross paths w/her. Day before yesterday it was at the Hairdresser's. The owner's mother came in and said (to her daughter but body language and delivery indicated it was directed to whomever) "I was just listening to so and so and he said If the Kerry's get in it will just be one big Shangri La" then, laughing, started saying disparaging things about Senator Kerry. My mom, who was having her hair done, spun around and said "and If bush* gets in it will be more Killing of Innocents, Lying, Deception, Disregard for the lives of children, not to mention the looting and privatizing of Social Security. Then just glared at her. You could have heard a pin drop. To myself I was saying GO GIRL.

10. The M-I-L is of exactly that mind.
She's pretty much told the Mr. she doesn't want to hear from him until the sElection is over (he keeps sending her factual information, which clouds her 'beautiful mind' from the serene, placid conservative place that Faux News takes her), and essentially accused him of a lack of affection since he disagrees with her politically. She's one of those 'always voted Republican' people who will, in the next breath, say things like 'well, I'm glad I won't be living in this disgusting world much longer!'

She also calls minorities 'those people.'

But she grew up in Cincinnati. There must be something in the water -- Charles Manson was born in Cinci not long after she was, his mother must have drunk from the same faucet her mother did.
