7. I figure it this way:

birth - age 5 = learning to be human
5 - 17 = learning there are other people and learning school things
17 - 26 = learning about the world around you as an adult, religions, cultures, etc.

26 or so you've finally come into your own, in essence "born" but an adult.
If you are 37, you are actually 11 years old...Enjoy yourself.
