I'm back from Micheal Moore's "SLACKER UPRISING TOUR" ask me anything!

I arrived an hour and ten minutes early so I could get a good spot to stand and boy was I glad I did. It was held outside in a "commons" area outside on the U of Cincinnati campus and it was packed at 4:15 and the event was scheduled at 4:30. Because it was held in Cincinnati a small group of Republicans showed up to heckle MM. The Democrats though way outnumbered the repugs and shouted them down when we they spoke up. Micheal Moore was 30 minutes late so the Republicans got restless and started that "4 more years" chant crap. We started overshouting them by chanting "No more Bush."

Then MM showed up and REM opened up for him and introduced themselves and Micheal Moore. They're lead singer(Micheal can't spell his last name)told us his dad served 1 tour in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam and that he was born on a military base. Then MM took the stage and fired up the crowd and then let 3 of 4 former ambassadors that resigned over the Iraq invasion. Then MM told the story about the soldier that saw him and tried to apologize for booing his Oscar speech and MM said it was us that owed him the apology; the repugs started to chant "Bullshit." MM then heckled them back and held up army registration forms.

1. I saw him in Madison, WI

...and it was also awesome. We were standing outside in unusually cold weather, facing a lake at 9 at night, but the electricity in the air kept me plenty warm. It was so packed that I couldn't actually see MM, but it was well worth the drive from Chicago.

We also got to heckle freepers with a chant of TWO MORE WEEKS! :)

3. Saw him In Vancouver BC in Summer 2002...

Electrifying. And it was free, with a one ticket per customer policy, so you had to line up hours in advance. Some people waitied 12 hours.

Even once it was filled to capacity, MM went outside the venue and spend a half hour talking to the crowd who couldn't get in.

MM said exactly the right thing about the soldier. I feel like those poor schnooks who thought they were doing something patriotic when they signed up deserve an apology. And I think every one of them should be replaced by the neocons and right wingers.
