3. One of the best albums of the 1990's
in any genre, probably the best rap album of the last 20 years.

6. Around, if not the exact point, when I started hating rap.
From SugarHill to De La Soul, "Go Cut Creator," the mighty Run-DMC, and of course PE to that?

The difference between those groundbreaking acts and gangsta rap is the difference between Led Zep and Poison.

Still get a giant, neon question mark over my head whenever I hear otherwise like-minded Dems express their love for "bitches and ho"-a-thons like this one. Where others hear "truth from the streets" I hear exploitation of women and the poor by a guy who lives near a golf course.

I apologize for the polarizing here, but WTF?

???

16. Changed the way rap sounded and looked. Forever.
For the better? That's subjective. But there's no doubt that it did.

17. meh.. i bought it when it was released..
and dust it off from time to time, but I'm an unapologetic backpacker, and would rather listen to something by Dumile, LLC, Hobo Junction, Hieros, et al. Frankly, I feel that Chops from the Mountain Brothers is a much better producer.
