6. Jethro
I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house when I was little. They had a redneck neighbor. They always referred to him as Jethro. Since my sister and I were small children, we assumed that it was really his name. One time, we were playing in the backyard and saw him in his yard and both said "Hi, Jethro."
He said "My name is David."
I said "Grandma told us that your name is Jethro."
My grandmother was really embarassed about that one.

folk singer. He's the only person I ever met who had that name; so I can't associate it with anything remotely redneck.

I'd have to say Dubya...
