1. Being a bird would be so great!
Can you imagine what they see?

Maybe if I work hard enough for Kerry/Edwards, I'll be rewarded in the after-life . . . . .

having a "pet" raven...not caged or anything like that, just a trusting visitor. They're very cool birds!

9. I think you can own ravens
You need to apply for a license and you can be approved. Ravens are one of the most intelligent birds in the world; they display individual learning patterns that only a few animals seem to do.

18. I have haerd that you have to split their tongues.....
I don't know how true that is, but that is what I heard. And, yes you can own them, depending on your local state laws.... BTW, I love your name... I have a serious things about Crows/Ravens and birds of Prey... but yet, I am half scared of Swallows, pigeons, etc... Even funnier, You should see when my Brother in Law's Parakeet is out of it's cage.... I am a basket case.

28. Of course not!
Ravens (and crows, jays, and starlings) can learn human speech without any surgical intervention, just like parrots can.

Some states allow corvid* ownership; others don't. Cities and counties have laws restricting animal ownership, too.

I've known captive crows; they seem more nervous than parrots. Even the ones obtained very young seemed more high-strung and prone to startling than most parrots. Also, crows and ravens seem to have an even higher need to burn off excess energy, which makes them probably unsuited to indoor cages. And the high-protein diet is tricky, though not as hard as it is with raptors.

25. Eek! Mean kitty face.
Except for the facial expression - which I must say is terrifying - your cat looks similar to two of mine, except they're different colors. One is kind of gray-black-brown with green eyes; the other, cream-brown-gray with blue eyes. Both fluffy - same ruff, same stripey faces, same "white wingy-dings" in the ears. Both have white undercoats. I like to part the hair on the dark one's back so it makes a stripe and say, "Skunk le pew!"

I want a few good, long decades of non-incarnate-ness, so the next time I'm incarnate I don't keep asking myself, "Why do I keep coming back here?!"
