Are the 80s ANCIENT history?
I am watching "Working Girl" (1988) on Bravo and it is sooooo dated!
Poor Joan Cusack. I know her hair and makeup were supposed to be a parody of "trailer trash makes it in New York" but, my god, will she ever be able to watch this movie without wincing?

Anyway, Melanie Griffith looks fabulous. And her sweet voice is enough to make you cry. Harrison Ford looks like a Greek God and Alec Baldwin....well, he and Joan Cusack must have had the same hair stylist.

Jeez. And I remember when this movie was in the theaters!

3. The 80s were 70 lbs ago for me...
After the kids were born, I NEVER have time to exercise.

When I was a teenager - in the 80s, the 50s seemed like ancient history. I was born at the end of the 60s, so it seemed kind of old, but not black & white like the 50s. I guess that's a big divide - B&W to Color. I suppose the jump from analog to digital video will be a divide for the young folks.

Now I realize that even the 20s were a split second ago, and that a human life is extremely short.

5. It seems like ancient history on one hand
Then again, it seems like yesterday. It freaks me out to see young girls wearing giant plastic earrings and skorts again, though. :D

6. In the 80s I divorced my second wife and my youngest son moved out.
...Since then the time has just FLOWN by.

It's all a matter of perspective.
