Singer Skeeter Davis Passes Away
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 04:53 PM by Norbert
Skeeter died after a fourteen year battle with breast cancer.

She started has singing career in the 1950s wirh a friend, calling themselves the Davis Sisters. An automobile accident ended her friends life and severly injured her. She recovered and went solo. She recoeded "The End of the World" as a tribute to her friend. The song went all the way to number 1 in early 1963. Later in the year "I can't Stay Mad at You" became another top 10 hit for her. She also sung at the Grand Ol' Opry.

She was one very nice lady. Rest in peace, Skeeter.

4. Peace to you Skeeter.
I had the pleasure of meeting her brother Frank in Nasville several years ago. What a truly nice man.
