Does anybody have a spouse that is apolitical?

My wife is basically apolitical and is often amused that I sometimes uncork on Bush and the Republicans. She says I'm bent on politics too much. She thinks it doesn't matter who wins because the sun will still come up the day after the election, and nothing will be different be it Kerry or Bush winning. (She is non political, and not a Naderite in any way.)

Her basic thesis is that the Constitution acts as a straitjacket against any president who would want to make this a fascist or un-democratic society and we are safe from that happening here.

Anyway, she hopes Kerry wins just so I can finally shut up about Bush. She does dislike him in some ways, but does not share my strong feelings.

We are both voting absentee and she'll be voting for John Kerry as well as Barack Obama!

I wonder if anybody else on DU has a spouse or sibling that is real apolitical and can't understand why you are?

2. The Constitution doesn't enforce itself

when you have an administration prepared to ignore it when suits it's needs and goals and a Supreme COurt who will put such an administration in power through political, non-Constitutional and conflict-of-interest based motivations then the COnsitituion and the rule of law that depends on it are at risk and a rule of corrupt men is possible.

5. My Husband Hates Bush
and is voting for Kerry but he does not understand my daily monitoring of the campaign news. He says " you already know how your going to vote, why watch that stuff?" my response was " you already know who won which game, why do you watch Baseball Tonight?'

6. My wife WAS apolitical
She believed that since she voted in Venezuala, she shouldn't vote in the U.S.
However...
Having listened to me rant, and watching the news, she now agrees that Bush has got to go... and will vote in her first American election this November 2nd.
