Democrat Sarah Jessica Parker faces backlash
Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker is facing a backlash from young Republican women opposed to her staunchly Democratic views.

snip........

Referring to her character Carrie Bradshaw, a team of Washington women are wearing black cotton T-shirts emblazoned with slogans including: "Carrie doesn't speak for me. Neither does Kerry" and: "Pro-Manolo, Pro-Bush".

Republican worker Jessica Boulanger says: "We're encouraging other influential women to wear the T-shirt to send the signal that our overwhelming support for Carrie Bradshaw's four-inch stilettos does not mean we overwhelmingly support John Kerry's flip flops."

Could a political statement BE any more vacuous?

You go girl, fight back against a fictional character in a discontinued soap opera! Fight the power that be! :eyes: Now siddown and shaddup.

23. If Carrie Bradshaw were a republican, there would be no show called
Sex in the City, provided that her character weren't a Stepford Wife . . .

21. Not only that, but she grew up in Cincinnati.
I'm guessing having some mean-spirited BS thrown at her by some snotty Republican women isn't new to her, considering that. She probably dealt with it every day of her life until she left -- I did!

31. I admit, I splurged...
Not because of the name, but because of the quality of them. I have had a pair of pointy toed 4-inch black MB slingbacks that I wear at least 3 times a week and walk across the city in, and they have lasted for about 3 years. My then-boyfriend almost killed me for spending the money, but they have served me very well...They were on sale though, thank god. I work in the Fashion Industry and have learned that sometimes you have to pay a little bit more for things to be of a certain quality. I would never buy anything trendy and tacky like most of the things on S&TC. I have also carried the same handbag that I bought in Paris for about 8 years. It looks just as good today as it looked the day it was shipped. It was also a splurge, but it was during the Clinton Years and the Economy was booming, so I could afford things like that. Now with everything, I wouldn't dream of buying anything like what I was able to buy then. I buy quality, but not quanity.

That being said, I saw the delegates, they were wearing Marshalls and Dillards. It is hard to find MB in the middle of Oklahoma. Stuart Weitzman, maybe.....

Sarah Jessica Parker tells 'backlashing young Republican women' to 'Go to Hell' and 'who she supports is none of their fucking business'.
