Wife came home and told me she was watching the RNC at the gym and the band Jet was playing the RNC!!! I'm so disappointed. I've liked them since they hit the U.S. (they're an aussie band) I always thought they sounded like EARLY Stones.

Oh well, I can't NOT like them. Just like I can't bring myself to NOT like Bruce Willis. ;) I'm just disappointed.

They certainly seem to be pretty socially liberal. Cold Hard Bitch doesn't seem like a song any fundie would just love.

Agree with you about them sounding like The Rolling Stones though. I still like them as well.

15. The Strokes are a hell of a lot better than Jet.

I just got a burned copy of the Jet album, and it disappointed me for the same reason that the first Vines album disappointed me. The singles are good, stripped down garage rock, but the album is full of quieter, more mellow songs. I don't have a problem with mellow music at all, but I want garage bands to ROCK dammit!!
