Mozilla Firefox question
I've had Mozilla Firefox for quite some time now, and I quite like it. Just one problem: I have trouble with plug-ins like QuickTime and RealPlayer. When I click on a link to access a sound or video file, it looks like it starts to download, and then Firefox freezes completely and crashes. Any suggestions?

1. Happened to me
this morning and I have not had time to investigate why. Froze up twice with Quick Time.

2. I uninstalled these two crapy programs and replaced them...
With Real alternative and Quicktime alternative.Maybe it would solve your problem.

3. That's odd
I've never had that problem. What version are you using? The most current version, I believe, is 0.9.3.

You might try uninstalling Firefox. Make sure you don't have multiple versions installed. Then download the latest one and install that. It'll pick up your old profile and all of your bookmarks and passwords (if you use the password manager) and other settings will be preserved. Then try uninstalling Quick Time and Real Player and installing the newest versions.

4. the realplayer issue sounds like a known bug in recent builds
I don't about quicktime though

You could search bugzilla (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org ) to see if anybody has reported the same problem you have, and if there's a work around.

Does every realplayer link you click on crash the browser?

5. I've had that problem
I'm still using Firebird version 0.6.1. This was before the name got changed to Firefox. I've tried to install later versions at different times but just got too many crashes when I tried to download things or with plugins like Quicktime and Real, just like you.
