And who is to say if God has forsaken anyone? Isn't that a judgement call? Maybe what has happened is your concept of God has grown some mighty deep cracks before it is shattered on the rock of Truth.

the battles against tyranny and evil ourselves? Life was never meant to be safe or easy, and God always gets the blame for the evil that men do. Maybe we should look at ourselves for being so complacent over the last 20 or so years. We took our eye off the ball after the end of the Viet Nam war. Never should have done that. Now we have to make up for lost time.

God gave us this world. It's our duty to fight for what is right against what is wrong. The history books are full of the names of those that showed determination, sacrifice, and courage to stand up for the poor, aged, children, etc. We are no different.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

why go to the trouble of creating all of this just to let it all go awry? If there is a God I just wish he/she/it would manifest him/her/itself and leave no doubt in anyone's mind that there is a higher power. I have a difficult time with "blind faith".
The song you suggested is just one man's supposition of what God's plan is, it has no basis in fact. I find that in many things relating to religion, people put their own slant on things and call it God's plan.
I'm 53 years old and have battled with this since childhood. Why, if there is a God, Jesus etc. have they not manifested themselves to put and end to all of this foolishness that man complicates his life with? The only answer I ever get is "It's God's Plan". That's not good enough for me. It seems like a catchall phrase that just reinforces the "Blind Faith" meme.

How about we have forsaken God. God gave us free will and we are so fucking weak (myself included) that we do what is satisfing to oursselves and not what is actually the right thing to do. Fast food, free porn, trickle down economics. All quite satifing to us beut not the thing that is right for all of us. I think God has given us what we need but we are just too frigging selfish and lazy to just us it.
