3. "Hairless Heart" from Lamb immediately comes to mind.
But Heart of the Sunrise is a fave too. Guess any mellotron song with the word 'heart' in it does it for me.

4. "Please Come Down" by the Bumps
A great '60s Seattle band. And the cover by the Marble Orchard also features mellotron, as does much of their Estrus release Savage Sleep. Great thread, BTW. I play the harmonium. ;)

Then again, I'm biased because I saw Wakeman on the Union tour. Any Nursery Cryme to Selling England By the Pound song is also killer as far as Mellotron (one of the greatest instruments ever created) usage goes. "C'est La Vie" by ELP is another good one for the voice section.

33. I love obscure musical instrument jokes
nice Moog, Byron, My husband has some funky synths, etc in the basement. A Roland and some old thing that required cords for patches. But not a Mellotron. How about Vibes?

That Gregsy's unacreditted mellotron on 'Easter Theater' from Apple Venus Vol. 1 deserves mention as well.

23. I will have Mellotron manufacturers literature on ebay soon.
Contact me if interested. I remember the time I saw Yes in the 70's the concert was held up for a good hour becsue the Mellotron wouldn't work. Tempermental beasts. I was just listening to 'Close to the Edge' not five minutes ago.
