14. I'm not a small dog fan - but I've never met one I didn't like
DOn't know why. I've always met really cool ones. Like my buddy's "Valentine" coolest little guy. When you come in the house he runs at you, actually climbs you, and starts licking your face.

15. I Love Chihuahuas!
My children kid me unmercifully about my Mickee. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. But he's my little buddy. He loves cuddling up to me when he sleeps.

I once remarked to another Chi owner how catlike they are.

I doubt he would taste good. Too much piss and vinegar.

16. Fans of the Taco Bell Dog or Ren & Stimpy?
I was watching an episode of Ren & Stimpy and Ren gets mistaken for a Rat and he pulls his pedigree papers out to prove that he isn't a rat. That's the moment that I fell in love with Chihuahuas.

17. My best friend has the best one I've ever met.
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 09:06 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
True Story: After he was born, they accidentally dropped him on his head. He was the runt. They thought for awhile after the fall that he was going to be retarded, but they were wrong. He's a GREAT dog. By the way, I hate Chihuahuas.

18. I have two.
They are the most loyal, affectionate, good-tempered, and responsive dogs I have ever had. Ours look nothing like rats, by the way.

I can tolerate a lot of the dissing and bashing that goes on in DU, but I will not stand for anyone saying nasty things about a Chihuahua (or any dog for that matter).

Some people don't like dogs? Some people don't deserve dogs.

19. I used to just think they were freaky looking
then I met a couple and am now convinced they're satan's favourite dogs, horrible yappy scrawny things they always look like there's something seriously congenitally wrong with them - why bother getting a dog at all if you want something this small, ugly and useless get a rat, they are atleast affectionate?

Just a guess. Tiny, yappy little dogs can be annoying as hell but they're cute as all get-out nonetheless.

30. Because They're Dogs
Met two totally cute ones:

One, this elderly lady was saying she didn't live alone, that she lived with "Frank" and called out, "Frank! Come here!" In comes this ANCIENT Chihuahua, who apparently had arthritis, and with every step he was going "Ooooo, ooooo..."

Then there was this other one, being held by its owner. I petted it and the owner started to hand it to me to hold, and I SWEAR the dog said, "Ohhh nooo....."

36. This IS a very dangerous post
Because they are cute and very engaging little dogs. I have had a rat for a pet and they can also be affectionate and endearing, but I would choose a Chihuahua, any day. I guess it's a matter of preference, but I think that they are awfully cute and have quite the personality. Also, like my tiny dog, they are very portable, LOL!
