2. I have a love hate relationship with Windows.
Bill has made me pretty comfortable but I hate their heavy-handed methods.

3. It's just too bad that Linux doesn't run 3D Studio Max,
and Photoshop, and Cakewalk Sonar, and Vegas Video, and Flash MX, and After Effects, and every other piece of software in the creative world. Let me know when they do and I'll switch. For the record, I love Linux for running web servers and databases.

Bottom line, Windows does NOT suck. Considering all the hardware and software it supports, I'm amazed that it works as well as it does.

Flame away! :)

5. A few of my favorites about windoze
Your mouse has moved. Windows XP must be restarted for the change to take effect. Reboot now? < OK >

Microsoft Windows: Proof that P.T. Barnum was correct.

Name one nice thing about Windows? It doesn't just crash, it displays a dialog box and lets you press 'OK' first.

A computer without a Microsoft operating system is like a dog without bricks tied to its head.

A computer without Microsoft is like a chocolate cake without mustard.

Claiming that Microsoft Windows system is the best in the world because more people use it is like saying McDonalds makes the best food in the world.

Customer: I'm running Windows XP
Tech: Yes.
Customer: My computer isn't working now.
Tech: Yes, you said that.

9. 3D Studio on Lindows?
Not a chance. That app pushes my top of the line Athlon machine to the absolute edge, it'd be a nightmare in emulation. Photoshop might run ok, but there's really no point in dual booting for one app. BTW, I'm very serious in wishing these apps would get native Linux versions. It could happen someday.

6. No flames from me!
I'm with you, why go Linux, when you can go with a real machine perfectly suited for creative stuff. Me? I've got an Airported Powerbook G4 with Photoshop, Flash and Director MX, After Effects, Soundtrack, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Cinema 4D and X-Plane running effortlessly on top of the slickest OS this side of Simula 67, Panther OSX!

Even the PC was better for that stuff than Linux (before it became a virus collector) when I had to run 3DS Max and Acid.
