Okay, so that was actually the weekend of the 6th (I've had to pay for my fun by staying away from the Internet and working for the past week solid). But I ended up doing an actual book signing at Barnes and Noble, for "Big Bush Lies" (I'm one of the contributors) and that was way cool! People were VERY nice, no hecklers, and later I even got to go into the same Pioneer Square bookstore as Bill Clinton and sign copies of our book there, too. Sara and Brew, two of the other authors, were terrific to meet.
I stayed at the Green Tortoise on 2nd Ave, with a view of the Pike Place Market -- less than $25 per night, so anybody who's thinking of visiting the Northwest and looking for decent-but-cheap accommodation, it's a good option. (They have private rooms as well.)
I even found a place that sells those state-shaped fridge magnets (Pier 55) and was able to finish up my collection for the office whiteboard.
