2. -

I'd guess that's a pretty closely guarded secret.

8. I don't get it.
Why should it be a guarded secret? Millions upon millions of Americans take anti-depressants. For us who take them, they're a necessary component of our lives. For me, my behavior without the meds is erratic; I'm given to mood swings, uncontrollable fits of hysteria, debilitating anxiety, and intense, debilitating depression. With the meds, I'm a fully-functioning human being. I will always have to take these meds; some things are in the cells, or genes, or whatever, and can't be cured with therapy.

Having problems that require medication and not taking any would be a serious problem. Having problems that require therapy and not getting any would be a serious problem. And needing meds and therapy and only taking one part of that treatment is like getting no help at all.

10. If Bush is indeed taking meds
I can understand why they wouldn't want anybody to know about it. Mental illness still carries with it a social stigma. In the Republicans eyes this would also be considered a sign of weakness, not somebody getting the help they need.

12. good points
To thinking people everywhere, though, he's already mentally ill, stigma or not (AFAIC the only stigma is in NOT getting help -- for someone who can afford it, it's sheer stupidity). Only a psychopath says he's learned nothing but "I'd still do it" from an action he took that killed thousands and thousands of people.

5. Supposedly SSRI antidepressants
The semi-tinfoil brigade has been reporting this for about a week now, that Bush is in deep mental doo-doo and is on meds. Capitol Hill Blue, Skolnick, some of the Rense regulars have all weighed in over the last ten or twelve days.

This could be just a tad frightening -- these guys are on the wacky side, but have accurately covered a number of major stories.

or Prozac, Zoloft, or one of the other legal drugs.

Wonder how much his prescription costs him?
