The cats are fighting
The female cat is upset about something or other. She's been meowing at me but she doesn't seem to want anything specific. She wants to be petted more than usual. I don't think she's in heat, she just did that not long ago.

She just attacked the male cat, hissing and growling.

Now she's back to meowing.

:wtf:

2. What part of the country are you in?
The pacific northwest has been experiencing some minor earthquakes - save for one last week that was not so little off the cost of Vancouver Island and a bunch in Oregon. Most of the time not really noticeable.

What does this have to do with cats? An old friend down in San Francisco had a cat that would meow and get affectionate whenever there was an earthquake - maybe your's is doing something similar.

Or then again - who knows what goes on in the mind of a cat. . . besides "feed me human" and "let me out/in human". She could just be in a chatty mood and in need of snuggles and gossip.

3. Sometimes , female cats who are not spayed
get into a cycle of going into heat constantly.. It can develop into a HUGE medical emergency.. We almost lost our sweet "Miss Kitty" over that.. Her little ovaries were bursting, and she had a massive internal infection.. She almost died, even with surgery :(

If you have your kitty spayed, you will both be more comfy :)

4. TrogL
i concur w/ the recurrent estrus posts. i had a kitten a while back that was unable to undergo the surgery because she'd been so weakened by deprivation. she wd cycle 2 weeks between estrus until i was able to force-feed her into sufficient strength for the operation.

don't want to be pedantic here, but i feel you need to fix that little girl before she develops emotional problems.

my non-professional schwie pfennigs.

7. Call your humane society..
Out here, they have a free/reduced cost spay neuter clinic every month or so..

The local vets take turns volunteering their services and it usually is oonly about $20.. The pet comes home the same day, and the stitches are disolveable so there's no follow-up vet bill..
