Lost the link but he's quoted as saying today he's proud to be a republican and has always been glad to get away "from socialism" (he was spinning socialism, making it sound bad, the steroid-eating jerk...). I just want to know how pure he is...

1. He was fed that line from Rove...
An attempt to thrill talk radio knuckle-draggers. Socialists=Democrats.

How soon he's in the mud.

2. Don't know about Public Assistance
as such, but he has received corporate welfare.

He is a partner in Planet Hollywood and PH has filed for bankruptcy not once, but twice. Remember that when people talk about his business experience when talking about his quals for Gov. Don't have time for the link, but google planet hollywood bankruptcy and you will fidn all you need.

3. Never mind public assistance...
Just about everything he is, he is today because of public programmes. He drives to work every day on publicly-funded roads. Every time he flushes the toilet or turns on a tap, he's taking advantage of publicly-funded infrastructure. Heck, every time he turns on the lights, he's taking advantage of something that originated in a public programme (remember that most US electrification was at the behest of the US government; the corporations wouldn't do it on their own without being prodded by Congress, because most areas are loss-leaders, in terms of initial "sink costs" versus ROI).

Those rugged individualists, can't stand collective effort; they're SO ideologically pure...
