1. Definitely The Omen!
I loved that movie trilogy! I'd love to see it made with today's technology...I'd bet it'd kick ass!

2. We've got the technology...
..but no Gregory Peck. (sigh)

Do you think Harrison Ford would suffice?

3. Bedtime for Bonzo
starring dumya, in his new career as an actor.

I'm tired of B-actors becoming B-politicians, time for a switch.

12. Who would play Reagan's part?
Dubya would have to be Bonzo. :)

5. I'd love to see Quentin Tarentino redo...
"The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-up Zombies" ...Have John Travolta in it, maybe Tarentino can help revive his career! With Uma Thurman as his hapless girlfriend...Also they could have real musical numbers and real strippers this time around!

Such a cool idea I should pitch the idea myself instead of inspiring the rest of youse!

11. 1984
but I would urge the filmmakers to take artistic license, change the title from some specific date, and update cultural references to reflect a scenario set in our own not-too-distant future.

19. If I Was in Charge of Choosing a Title
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 08:31 AM by Labor_Ready
I would forsake using any date. The story line wouldn't suffer for it, since I don't recall any reference to dates in Orwell's novel...only in the title - chosen for its reversal of the last two digits of 1948, the year he published it.

20. Maybe the next one could...
I don't know, actually make sense to someone who hasn't read the book. I saw the movie before I read the book and the movie seemed bizzare, randomn, didn't have any plot I could identify and was all around bad. The message seemed completely lost in the movie. It was too strange and sci-fi to have any relevance to the real world. I know some people liked it a lot. Maybe they read the book first.

21. I Read the Book, Didn't See the Movie(s)
apparently there are two...one made in 1956, another in 1984. I'd say there's room for another version...a looser adaptation that takes into account the big-brother technology and practices that have already come to pass. Add present-day worst-case scenarios, and that could make one horrifying movie.

It seems to have lost its power to cause riots. I challenge today's filmmakers to pump it up a bit.
