NASHUA The Easter Bunny has fluffy white fur, a bushy tail, big ears, and now an upcoming court date on felony theft charges with a pair of co-workers at the Pheasant Lane Mall.
Three Nashua women, including one who was paid to dress up as the Easter Bunny, were arrested over the weekend and charged with taking more than $3,500 from a program at the mall in which children could get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
Nashua police say Kari Zeger, 20, of 18 E. Pearl St., Dyanna Seavey, 19, of 105 Spitbrook Road, unit 7D, and Julie Carder, 19, of 116 Hills Ferry Road, took the money in late March while a Colorado portrait company offered the photos at a stand in the mall.
Zeger was paid to dress up as the Easter Bunny; Seavey was the stand's manager; and Carder was also an employee of the stand, which was run by Noerr Programs Inc. of Colorado.
The women are accused of unplugging the stand's credit card machine so customers would have to pay for photographs in cash, which police say they then took.
Officials from Noerr Programs called police after an audit revealed the missing money.
