You have some of the best qualities an employee can have. First, and foremost, the one I see is that you take responsibility and learn from your weaknesses. This is a biggy.
Look for something that you enjoy and that fits you. The job you lost is a job that few succeed in making a living. It just wasn't your cup of tea. Loosing this job does not mean you are not worthy. As an employer, I would have looked hard for something within the same organization that might be more appropriate for you instead of sending you out and giving another company the advantage of such a responsible employee.
There's an old story about Ross Perot. I don't know if its true, but it's still good. It goes something like this - An employee hired by him to invest money made a very bad investment. The employee watched this investment crumble in a day. He went in early the next morning and packed up his stuff. He then called Perot and went to his office to tell him about the company money he had lost, how sorry he was, and that it wasn't necessary to fire him because he would resign. Mr. Perot looked at him and said, "To hell you will. You just learned a huge lesson and I'm not going to let another company have the advantage of your knowledge from this mistake on their payroll and not mine."
I hope you find a good job that suits your attributes really soon.
