My integrity.
As you know, I got fired yesterday. The incident that my integrity was put into question went like this:

I took a call from a woman. I did my usual pitch. She said that she could potentially give me $25 but was not sure. I asked her if she could do it in a week. She said that she needed longer. So I said how about a month. She said that she could most likely get $25 in about a month but was not sure. But I put her down as a yes, instead of a maybe because I thought that it would suffice. A supervisor was listening to that call. He called her back and said that it was wrong of me to put her down as definite so asked her if she wanted a may send packet. He said that I should have put her down as a maybe and not a yes. Said that I have an issue with integrity based on this incident and feels that I may have potentially hurt telefund and the campaign.

I feel really bad about this and I wish that I had made it a maybe and not a yes. What I did was unethical even though I did not intend it to be. I still cannot believe that I did it.

2. Quit beating yourself up...
You have some of the best qualities an employee can have. First, and foremost, the one I see is that you take responsibility and learn from your weaknesses. This is a biggy.

Look for something that you enjoy and that fits you. The job you lost is a job that few succeed in making a living. It just wasn't your cup of tea. Loosing this job does not mean you are not worthy. As an employer, I would have looked hard for something within the same organization that might be more appropriate for you instead of sending you out and giving another company the advantage of such a responsible employee.

There's an old story about Ross Perot. I don't know if its true, but it's still good. It goes something like this - An employee hired by him to invest money made a very bad investment. The employee watched this investment crumble in a day. He went in early the next morning and packed up his stuff. He then called Perot and went to his office to tell him about the company money he had lost, how sorry he was, and that it wasn't necessary to fire him because he would resign. Mr. Perot looked at him and said, "To hell you will. You just learned a huge lesson and I'm not going to let another company have the advantage of your knowledge from this mistake on their payroll and not mine."

I hope you find a good job that suits your attributes really soon.

3. The problem is...

...that I wanted to commit her while still being accomidating and she did not want to commit because she was not 100% sure. I sort of understood this. She said, that she could most likely have it in by a certain time but she was not sure. This is why I feel bad about this. forgive my error.
