Damnit! I have poop and acorns in my house!

I started cleaning out my basement yesterday. (it's been long over due) It's a storm celler....the kind you have to go outside to go into.....(Sucks in the winter).... Anyway, i found a bunch of acorns and animal poop in some of my boxes. Anything that wasn't sealed tight has crap and acorns! Obviously, i had or have squirrels. The strange part is i don't have a clue as to how the hell they got into the house. The door to the celler in metal and it sealed well. The only way i can think of is through the wall..... There must be a hole under the vinyl siding....somewhere. Has anyone had a pest problem and what did you do?

Poop and acorns. I actually started up to take the dog for a walk and came back here to post this. That's a beauty of a title.

They've invaded our home, too. They're awfully cute when they stretch out and lie on their bellies on the warm pavement. Poop and acorns, though, is another story.

Or I did over the Winter at least.

I could hear them at night, rustling around up there.

They usually go out this time of the year but if they come back, a pest controller will trap them and release them in another state, or country, whichever you prefer. :)
