Poll question: Should I change my last name to De Nasty?

Real last name is Dantzler, which is just too much for restaurant hostesses to handle. (Go figure.) Girlfriend's name is similarly Swiss-German and consonant-heavy but nothing you'd think would be too challenging, but it is for them, so she usually just gives a cutdown version of her last name. I'm thinking "De Nasty, party of two" has a real ring to it. What say you?

I mean, if I had a name like Dantzler...I'd have to change it.

The only thing that would make it acceptable was if you had a rather common first name like, say....John!

Now, those two names together would be majestic sounding.

You know what I get all of the time? I get people calling me Dan. They hear the Dantzler and then just grab the Dan part of it and transform that to my first name. I guess that makes my last name Zler.

And that T...it has become quite unnecessary, hasn't it? Nobody down South really bothers to say it anyway.
