16. Anybody Else Have A Problem With. . .

. . .ordering coffee black from a black person? I get real uneasy, just 'cuz i don't want anything to be misinterpreted.

It started on a plane, and a wonderfully attractive black woman was the attendant. Pretty, friendly, and professional. I was so worried about insulting her and sounding like i was making some sexual comment that when she asked me how it wanted it, i came up with "as is".

Ever since then, i'm always conscious of that phrase. It's probably much ado about nothing, and probably nobody would take it the wrong way, but i still think about it.

Anybody else ever had this thought?
