You know, I love my job and my co-workers are great...but...
A 25-year-old guy cannot work in an office full of only middle aged women and keep a healthy level of sanity.

Always works for me.

19. I need to hear some swearing
And dirty jokes, maybe a story about the time someone got so drunk they puked on a COP.

My last job was an office for of 20-something males...now we laughed are asses off all day. It was great.

20. Well, I think most middle-aged women would not
have a recent story about puking on a COP, but they were younger once you know... ask them for some stories... I'm sure you'll be surprised.

And, didn't anyone tell you that dirty jokes are really not appropriate in the workplace?

It's a good growth experience for you. :)

21. Well, I a middle aged women & the first time I got drunk
was at a high school football game. I thought I was going to get sick, so I ran into the girls bathroom. I sat there for a while, didn't get sick so I thought I was ok. I walked out, saw a cop standing there and proceeded to puck on his shoes.
I was 14 at the time so it was back in the dark ages.

5. Sure you can

I did! Though I understand your pain - it did mean for me mostly coming to them on their terms, and them pretty not ever coming to me on my terms; not that they weren't interested in me, but that they couldn't understand my world, and didn't have much interest. But that was less due to age than in differences in interests.

But still, they have much to teach and many stories to tell.

Take advantage of the opportunity, and mine their stories from them. You will leave enlightened. I did.

6. I COMPLETELY hear you
I used to work in such an environment. They act as if you're not there, and there are only so many PMS/period stories one can bear to hear.

8. Did I say that?
Edited on Thu May-20-04 11:47 AM by sirjwtheblack
I never said it was fun for a woman to work in an office entirely of men either, you know. Balance is necessary in life.

On edit: I'd rather hear about pretty much ANYTHING else than stories about bodily functions. I never talk about mine and do not care to hear about anyone else's!!

10. Ok... you have the benefit of a doubt. :)
You're right. I actually am not too comfortable working with all women OR all men, and I've experienced both.

They go on about their kids and stuff, and I'd kill for one anecdote about last night's game.

17. Whenever it gets too
"middle-aged woman" in the room, you just deflate the situation by saying "there's too much estrogen in here"

Problem solved
