What is your favorite? Mine, mountains, there is nothing better than a thunderstorm in the mountains.

1. I live on the Beach in Florida
But I long for the mountains!

You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy!

4. I agree...
My wife and I are about to move to Asheville NC, I can't wait. We live in Columbia SC now, it's really flat here in more ways than one.

7. I'm so envious
That whole area is sooooo beautiful. And there's a perfect mix of old-timers and artsy newcomers (and artsy oldtimers too). I hope you enjoy bluegrass music or are open to it, because there's some fantastic bluegrass festivals in that area every year.

Good luck on your move!

16. Normally, I'm opposed to stupid SUVs
but if you've got one, you're in for a real treat. There's some of the best scenery you've ever seen if you get off-road around Asheville. If you're not into bird-watching or looking at "ephemeral" wildflowers, now's the time to get some books.

Envy, envy, envy,.....:)

3. Some great surf shops in Pismo
Can't remember their names. Stayed there on vacation a few years ago. The water is shallow for such a long time, especially around the pier area. Some terrific vistas, too.

6. Mountains by the beach, or beach by the mountains.
There's a certain attraction to thunderstorms seen from that mountain.

10. Mountains!
I hate the beach. Way too sandy and warm. Now the mountains - cold, snowy, pefect. Hell I was born in Colorado, but sadly live in California. Kinda ironic...

22. Mountains
I enjoy visiting the beach now and again.

The mountains call me. I don't feel comfortable unless I can see them, and I am happiest when I can feel them under my feet.
