Anybody watch "8 Simple Rules"?
Actually, the full title is "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter". It's on ABC Tuesdays at 8:00.

At first, I mocked the show. But a friend of mine insisted that not everything on ABC was crap. So I turned it on one evening and was pleasantly surprised. John Ritter is excellent. Peggy Sagal isn't as good as she was on "Married with Children". It's hard to get the Peg Bundy character out of my mind.

Anybody else have opinions- positive or negative?

2. Very positive
It's the only new sitcom that was worth anything last season imho.

John Ritter is at his best here. But I think that Jack Tripper and Peggy Bundy are shakey as a couple at best. It is hard to get those characters out of my head as I watch.

It's a family comedy. TGIF-type stuff. But surprisingly good.

4. Agreed, in terms of casting - but a better show to watch is coming?
Jack Tripper and Peggy Bundy are definite icons not easily forgotten.

Seeing them playing generic sitcommy cardboard stick figures strains their credibility as well; it's obvious they had much more fun playing the characters on the shows that made them famous.

I'm looking for is "About the Andersons" I think it's called... WB network. Stars John Amos (Good Times, 704 Hauser) - he's the coolest!

5. WB is getting better...
I like some of their shows a lot.

Charlie Sheen has a new show that will be on CBS after Raymond and I'm thinking that might be the best new show of this upcoming season but it will be impossible until we can watch them all.

6. WB is improving
In fact, I prefer it to ABC sometimes. "Everwood" is a decent show.

I'm not too excited about Sheen's new sitcom. And "Raymond" is on its way down. I heard that Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle (Raymond's parents on the show) called in sick for work yesterday, along with Patricia Heaton. All are represented by the same agent, and some are suggesting they are holding out for more cash.

10. You must admit: the show is funny
But it is in a dirty-little-secret kind of way. It's like admitting you watch "Boy Meets World" or "Step by Step" or (god forbid) even "Full House."
