4. Well, I'm half joking
God does need to be put in his place. He's got such a huge ego, thinking he's all "high and mighty" and shit. A nice little beat down would knock him back down to size a little.

5. Making Up Your Own Rules Helps. And Cherry Picking From The Rules...
that conflict with other rules helps too. And making up new rules and conditions as you go along makes things even easier. Kinda like a sidewalk cafe with its soup-du-jour... there's always a new rule of the day. Ya never know what it's going to be, or how long it will last.

7. I voted "God encompasses all"
Remember, God is omnipotent. Which means that there's not a chess game going on between God and Satan... it's just a very complex game of solitaire.

9. Because if god exists, if there is
a supreme being, doesn't he/she/it pretty much get to set the taxonomy and the primum mobile of correct living?

10. Because god-belief makes possible the ruler-priest class
which facilitates the domination of the many by the few. Without which the study of civilization would be forced to cover something other than warfare and family dynasties. It would be so boring.

That isn't to say that tyranny wouldn't exist without god, but it sure explains the union of Neocons and Fundamentalists Republicans who worship the pratical implications the idea.

Well, I don't believe in god, but if there was any such thing, it would be a she.

My favorite quote: When god created man, SHE was only joking.

I had a T-shirt with that on it once. My ex-boyfriend didn't like it one bit. Somehow it strangely disappeared.
