2. Yes In-N-Out is pretty fucking okay
I love their burgers...and of course in the Bay Area we have Kirks Charbroiled Steakburgers (100% Sirloin Beef BABY!)

But I do like the East Coast dives...they just don't do dives here...

39. Yeah. Love CA, but they really don't "get" dives or real diners
(not like Fog City diner fer chrissakes), or why they are necessary.

In n Out is great. In DC when I was growing up there was Little Tavern Hamburgers (the same, small, square, oniony things, buy a bag of 6 or so) which was the late night/early morn snak of choice after an evening of underage drinking in Georgetown.

As far as I understand Little Tavern was sort of an approximation of White Castle. Not sure if it was open all night though. Don't know if there is still Little Tavern (small white place with green roof).

23. Cool, I didn't know that about Sonic.
I've eliminated most fast food from my diet for health reasons, but I like the occasional treat at Sonic. It seems that there are fewer and fewer places to patronize that don't support right wing causes.

40. It's weird. Sonic is a completely different concept of burger,
"clean" and not greasy like In and Out, but I really like it too. I did not know they are Dem contributors, must go out and get a bacon dbl chz there now!

6. I have Chik-Fil-A
here in FL. I tasted White Castle food in NY. You need to check out In and Out and El Pollo Loco before you complain. IMHO In and Out has the best burgers ever and El Pollo Loco can't be beat for chicken or burritos. Sigh, I miss California.

41. I think Chik founders or owners are major biblethumpers. That's
why they are not open SUN at least here in TX. Dunno if they are shrubco supporters.

7. We finally got our first stand-alone Chik-Fil-A here!
I'm in SE Pennsylvania, and the only Chik-Fil-A outlets in the area for years have been in malls. Gods be praised, they finally opened a stand-alone about 5 minutes from my place of work.

24. Chic Fil A is good
When I eventually move back north, I'll really miss Chick A Flick (an elderly customer of mine called it that). Their chicken biscuits are to die for. I wish they served them all the time, instead of breakfast only.

For those unfamiliar to White Castle, I don't think it's exactly rocket science for you to guess why White Castle burgers are called "sliders."

but that's going on almost 20 years ago now. Closing on Sundays not good for business in most of California, one imagines.

17. I absolutely refuse
to eat in any restaurant (namely Chick-Fill-Uh) that doesn't open on Sunday so that it's employees can go sing songs to a dead guy tacked on a stick.

Besides, the food sucks. One visit was enough.

the first time I had a Chik-Fil-A was c. 1970 in Burlington, NC ... and, I thought it was really good ... tried one in CA not too long ago ... it's not as good as a hope it would have been (nor as it used to be ... but, what is?)
