Need your opinion. I have an opportunity to...................
crew on a 55' sailboat moving it from Long Island Sound down to Annapolis MD. I have never sailed offshore, although I have moved a 26' powerboat from central jersey to Bridgeport CT, and would love to do it. A number of years ago I turned down a similar job taking a boat to Tortola. ( LOL In hindsite I was greatful I wasn't on that trip because they ran smack into a hurricane)
My dilema is I have my own business and it would mean a few days out of touch with my customers. Even when I take some time off I am still on call 24/7. My work ethic (and catholic guilt) tells me to forget about it, be responsible and look after my business.
Question: Should I say the hell with it and go on the trip or suck it up and wait for another opportunity?

1. Do it.
You will regret it later if you dont.

Yes, you'll worry abut your business (although you'll also have a lot of fun!) -- but when you get back and find that the world didn't end, you'll be glad you went.

4. Sorry
only you can decide. I just turned down a similar opportunity and as it worked out, it was by far the best decision.

6. Is your business one that someone else can look after it?
It sounds like you will probably kick yourself later for not doing it. I say do it!!

7. Follow your heart
If your heart tells you to go, go. This doesn't sound like an opportunity that's guaranteed to be repeated.

I actually quit a job once to enter a skeet tournament after being refused the time off. I don't regret it for a moment.

10. A three hour tour
a three hour tour
the weather started getting rough
the tiny ship was tossed
if not for the courage of the fearless crew
the Minnow would be lost

11. LOL but that was how the other trip I missed was.
They blew out $30,000.00 worth of sails and my friend said that the waves hitting the boat sounded and felt like a wrecking ball.
He swore he'd never get on a sailboat again. That didn't last long.
