Do you live in a large city, suburb or rural town?
Do you like where you live or would rather live someplace else?

1. I live in a medium sized city and I love it.
I have always lived in a larger city and so that's all I know. I used to think that I would like to live on a farm in the middle of nowhere. But now that I'm older - that thought has gone - been replaced with - happy where I am.

3. Middle of Nowhere, Wisconsin
Surrounded by cows, hay, cornfields, dusty roads and an Amish community I admire.

4. Downtown Austin TX ... large city to me
but then I grew up in a town of one thousand people. Austin metro estimate 2003 is 1,377,633 with 671,873 in 2002 in the city itself, the 16th largest in the US according to the census.gov site.

I like living here well enough, but would like to live somewhere with four seasons. The summers here really get to me. I lived in Salt Lake City for a while. Loved the weather there, plus the access to the mountains and the recreation they provided. I'd like to live there again if it weren't for all those conservatives.

Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 03:14 PM by amandae
which is a neighbor to 132, which is near 37 on your chart!

:hi:

On edit: We live in a nice enough place, but would like to move farther north again. I'd love to live in a small area in Vermont or Maine :)

11. Another Austinite here.
This city could stand to be a little smaller. If only we could excommunicate all the rich poseurs out west of MOPAC, Austin would be much nicer. :7

I don't want to see us grow TOO big though. There's already enough ugly-ass sprawl for me.

16. For now, NE near 183 & 290.
I'm moving at the end of May, though. I have a line on a place near Hancock Park.

That reminds me: I need to prod someone about that.

6. Large city. Hands Down!
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 03:11 PM by elfwitch
Live in Dallas (8th largest). Hate it.
Lived in San Antonio (9th largest). Loved it.
Want to live in San Francisco (13th largest). Can't wait.

I would die in a small to medium city.
I can't imagine not living in a big city.

17. my Dallas rants are near legendary...
Lets see...
Short list:
Dallas is pretentious as hell and undeservedly so.
Dallas doesn't have anything more to do than say San Antonio but people act like it is as cosmo as New York or LA.
The air quality blows.
Too F-ing many Republicans and Southern Baptists.
Too many Hummer and H2 drivers

There are many many more reasons why I can't wait to get out of Dallas.

If you have more questions, PM me.

7. Yes.
I live in the small town of Altadena right on the edge of a very large national forest. Altadena also adjoins a medium-size city, Pasadena. And abuts the typical suburbs of Arcadia, La Canada, & Sierra Madre. And is a part of whole collection known generally as Los Angeles. I like it a lot.

St. Mary's "City" is composed of my 1800 student college and an archaeological site, surrounded by farms. Whee.

13. Small rural town
I leave the key in my car's ignition, go away and leave the doors unlocked, It's slow and quiet, I wouldn't live any other way now.

19. It used to be a small town
but gradually became a suburb of Washington DC. It was on the streetcar line that went from DC to the University of MD.

I'd like where I live if the school system didn't suck and if there wasn't so much crime in the surrounding area. My neighborhood's quite nice.

I like the Twin Cities- grew up here, but we live in a predominantly conservative suburb. I have to travel a way for meet-ups.
