Is it true that redheads have more fun?
Well, I wanted to find out. I always think red headed gals look pretty cute... I adore Julianne Moore! I have toyed with the idea of "going red" for about a year. Tonight, I picked up a semi-permanent wash (lasts 24 washes).

Let's just say it was not a total success...

My original color was mostly dark blonde to light brown, but I still had the remnants of blonde highlights here and there. I guess it was easy not to notice them since the medium color hid them well.

Well, now they are sorta pink. Not REALLY pink... but sorta pink. I think I'll wash my hair tonight to start that "washing out" process. or maybe I should just be BOLD and go totally red???

Nah... not ready for that yet... baby steps!

I'm probably overly critical, and no one will notice. Other than the pink ends, I have to say it's not half bad!

:silly:

I was platinum blonde as a child, but get darker every year. I have been highlighting for years, but have been thinking I'd try walin'on the wild side

I agree.... redheads rock.

Mark Twain once said that, while the rest of humanity descended from apes, redheads descended from cats.

We redheads do indeed have more fun.

22. yeah, I think it's the rarity of it.
so many people color their hair blonde, that it is way more common than being a natural blonde. I figured if I wanted to do something to my hair, why not do something that would set me apart a bit more? Plus, that myth of the wild redhead is very appealing!

25. Definitely!
It was hard growing up as a redhead, lots of teasing. Also, if I heard the question, "Where did you get that red hair from?" once, I heard it a million times. My dad's hair was black and my mom is a brunette. Anyway, one day I answered the question by saying, "I got it from the milk man?" (Okay, so I'm showing my age. For all you young ones, milk used to be delivered to the house.

Needless to say, my parents weren't happy with that answer :-). But I have grown used to the attention that a natural redhead draws and have to say that it's nice to still get compliments.

30. LOL!
My brother said something similar once. All three of us were born light blonde, and then later our hair turned darker. We got that from our Dad. But as an adult, both he and my mom had medium brown hair, so we got asked where we got it from a lot too!

I think the teasing may be why so many redheads are kinda feisty! I like that about them!

29. Being a redhead requires a certain "attitude"
I'm a redhead (and yes, I have green eyes). But I'll warn you--being a redhead requires you to possess certain personality traits. Not just everyone can pull it off successfully. There's a certain attitude involved. And a more practical tip: red hair coloring fades faster than any other hair color. I know--I've been having mine "enhanced" for the last couple of years to hide the grey! :eyes:

33. Exactly ....
I do recall a certain 'step bro' (ahem, Will Pitt) making fun of my red hair and my link to the DU family tree just a few months ago ... hmmm ....

Reds have to be able to fend off all manner of teasing from an early age, and I think that's where our spicy attitudes come from. We're born 'different' so we dare to be different in other ways as we grow up.

36. Go for it Lisa! Enjoy your new life as a redhead!
I promise you that it will leave you feeling empowered! I once dyed my hair blonde for the hell of it. It was amazing to me how much more often I got hit on by guys, which was kinda nice, but no one took me seriously anymore. It was like my IQ was cut instantly in half by becoming blonde. I learned my lesson. I went back to my natural state and embraced my red hair in all its glory. I may get noticed less by men, or I may just flat scare them off, but the ones who do make the effort, well, let's just say that I know they like a challenge and that I reward them for their efforts!

39. Hi Lisa0825
I can say, as a third generation red-head, that we do have more fun. At least now. But when I was growing up everybody made fun of my hair - so I hated it for a long time. But now I love it. It makes me a little different from everyone else.

It's the freckles that get to me.

Enjoy your red-headedness!!!!
