ACTION ALERT NOW: Start wearing your anti-bush pins & buttons
I'm AMAZED at the positive reponse I get when I wear one of my anti-bush pins. And I usually end up parting with one of them because the total stranger who asks me about them wants to know "where did you get those"

My wonderful conversation started yesterday as I worked my volunteer shift at the Cat Adoption center at Petsmart. There are 2 adoption centers next to each other and I have to go to the other one to get freshwater for my cat dishes. I started talking to the lady at the other center and actually our conversation started about the beautiful Calico Cat they had up for adoption. I was petting this pretty kitty and I mentioned to this lady "Did you know John Ashcroft thinks Calicos are the work of Satan". That and my anti-Bush button I had on my keychain started this great conversation. Next thing I know I'm looking for an extra anti-bush button to give to her because she wanted one to give to her sister-in-law.

I hate parting with my buttons, but then I think its a great way to spread the message. That lady put both buttons right on her sweatshirt for anyone to see.

So I make it a point to wear an anti-bush button everyday. Heck, I'm thinking of buying a handful of buttons just so I have extras that I can give away for those who ask for them.

But it's a great way to get the message out there. Wear your anti-bush buttons with PRIDE!!!

1. Time to invest in a button maker.
Start making your own to hand out. Are those button machines still available?

2. I wore one yesterday when I went to the mall.
It said, "Make the Scary Republican Go Away!" The sales lady at Origins chuckled, and said, "nice pin." We ended up having a lengthy discussion about the state of things. She said her father is a very active republican organizer in the area, and she pretty much considered herself one too, but that she can't stand Bush'. she said, "Kerry's not so bad. I could vote for him." She agreed with me about the Patriot Act, the war, and the deficit spending of the Bush admin. It always makes me feel so good to meet "Republicans in recovery!" :-)

4. I noticed that when I had
my anti-war and anti-Bush bumper stickers on my old car (I don't want to put them on my newer one because my old one would get vandalized).

Sure, I got some nasty responses but I was amazed at the positive reaction. People were telling me they thought they were alone in their feelings and were afraid to say anything, I heard that over and over again.

6. I've been noticing more and more positive responses...
...and fewer and fewer negative ones. I have several homemade signs in my truck and lately the responses have been not only more positive but also more enthusiastic.
