Please excuse if this discussion has been flogged before but - does anyone think someone from within CIA will leak a copy of the pre-9/11 Bush briefing document given verbally by Tenant in August '91?
It occurs to me that its existence could be the very reason why George Tenant remains CIA Chief. If ever there was a smoking gun that would be it....
they do, in one of several formal formats or as 'talking points' (which are also written) which have to go through several levels of review so there are probably lots of copies... Off-hand remarks made during the briefing may not be written down, but most of it will be.
Apparently, Bush has been the only President in recent memory to want his intelligence briefing to be delivered verbally. The brief is written and goes home with Tenant who edits it then gives it verbally the next morning. Tenant has used this method to bond with Bush because he can be irreverent and straight forward. Bush apparently likes it because the asshole probably doesn't have the patience to read anything let alone understand it. I wonder how this idiot learned to navigate and fly in the Air Guard.
